Deepti Bhatnagar was born in a Hindu family from Meerut. She did her early education from Delhi and attended Meerut University. She moved to Mumbai in 1992 to identify a good ad agency to promote her handicrafts factory in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
She made her presence felt more in the video of Laung Gawacha wearing ghagra-cholis than on the big screen. Although she claims to have fired all her salvos with her three films, Pahlaj Nihalani's Uljhan, B. Subhash's Dulhan Banu Mein Teri and Guru Bhalla's Saamna coming from the house of parallel cinema. Acting to her is addictive while singing is her passion. Besides choosing roles for herself she is busy cutting her own music album.
She was promoting her handicrafts, when she got an opportunity to sign for an ad agency for modeling for the Roopmilan saris? press ad and after that ad she signed 12 campaigns. She had given up her interest in running the handicraft factory and entered into the professional modeling world. She won the Eves Weekly contest in 1990. Soon afterward, she was modeling in Singapore for various international fashion shows.
