Biography
Lilette Dubey was born on 13th May 1961 in Mumbai, India. She is a Sindhi and her husband Ravi Dubey, is a Saraswat Brahmin. Her mother is Leela and Lilette means 'small Leela'.
She has two daughters, Ira and Neha.
Lilette started the Theater Action Group and has directed the play 30 Days in September. She started out in television with Newsline and Vaqalat. She plays Chandni in Aur Phir Ek Din and a headstrong mother in Raahein.
Lilette Dubey has been a part of movies like Bawandar (2000), Zubeidaa (2001), Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) and Monsoon Wedding (2001). In Zubeidaa, she played a glamorous actress and Zubeida?s father?s mistress while Monsoon Wedding saw her as the bride?s mother.
In Mira Nair's Vanity Fair (2004) she had a small part as Ms.Green. She had roles in Mahesh Dattani?s Morning Raga (2004) and Anjan Dutta's Bow Barracks Forever (2004). My Brother Nikhil (2005) was about a boy diagnosed with AIDS. She played Sanjay Suri and Juhi Chawla?s mother who does not know how to deal with it.
Fanaa (2006), Corporate (2006) and Saas Bahu Aur Sensex (2008) were other movies she has acted in. In 2009, she will be seen in a movie about the life of a child actor called Pankh. The movie also stars Bipasha Basu and Mahesh Manjrekar.
