Story

Esha (Esha Deol) and her mother Mansi Devi (Jaya Bachchan)
lead a happy existence and share life's precious moments together. For Esha, her mother is her closest friend.
Aman (Aftab Shivdasani) is a rich garment factory owner. He is Anupam Kher's only child and much against his father's wishes, enrols himself for a course in fashion technology at the NIFT. Kher is not too pleased at his son's chosen career path but his all-consuming love for his son makes him see reason. The
hero falls head over heels in love with Esha's innocence and beauty.
Aman comes to know of a dark secret that the mother and her daughter have buried deep - Esha has been married once and is a widow. Aman also comes to know that Mansi Devi is not her mother but is her mother-in-law, whose son, Dushyant (Sanjay Kapoor) was married to Esha.
An orphan raised by Mansi, Esha is married off to her son. On the wedding night itself, Esha finds out Dushyant's strange aberration ? his penchant for videotaping intimate moments of her in the raw. His male friend is ordered to make love to her. A distraught Esha balks in agony and smashes the camera and flees for her life. In the melee, the tent catches fire and Dushyant is believed to be dead too.
Esha cannot escape Aman's sincere attempts to win her over and yields to his pleasant charm. But destiny plays havoc once again in Esha's life as Dushyant reappears on the day of their wedding and threatens to ruin their happiness. An enraged Mansi then takes it upon himself to put an end to the evil, once and for all......
