Story
Shaurya (Rajkummar Rao) and his girlfriend Noorie (Geetanjali Thapa) plans to elope and get married, a day before Noorie's marriage with someone else. As Shaurya lives in boys hostel, he plans to shift to a new flat. In a hurry to find a cheap house he ends up shifting in a high rise apartment, which is empty due to some legal issues. Ironically, neither the only security guard nor Noorie knows that he has shifted in this empty building. Next morning Shaurya accidentally locks himself up in his new rented apartment. He makes some initial attempt to break open the lock but fails. Due to a discharged phone, he is unable to contact anybody. Shaurya, now totally disconnected with outside world struggles to survive being claustrophobic and without food, water and electricity. As days passes by, he makes several failed attempts to get any help:-
Trying to shout out to the guard.
Sends help message written on cardboards with his blood, which goes un-noticed.
Throws down his Led Tv.
Burns fire in the balcony during night to grab someone's attention but soon has to put it out as the fire starts spreading inside the flat.
Desperate to survive Shaurya has to feed on cockroaches, ants and pigeons and also starts talking to a rat for company. To his relief it rains heavily and Shaurya collects as much water possible in empty containers. Almost a week later his health started falling cos of starvation or eating unhygienic things. Shaurya then gathers some courage and decides that he will not die in here. He plans to escape through balcony grill by cutting it with a mettle sheet, which took days. He then hangs out of balcony and climbs down five floors by railing, with the constant risk of falling down to his death. He reaches down the 30th floor which had no grills, hence manges to breaks into the flat and finally could escape out of the building. Due to too much weakness he faints and been rushed to a hospital. A week later Noorie, who is now married to someone else gives him a visit in hospital. Heartbroken and traumatized by the incident Shaurya returns to his life and office. He is confound to see that no one has noticed his absence as everyone is too busy in their own world, thus portraying the lifestyle of metro cities these days.
