Biography

Natassha (Anita Hasnandani), a simple middle-class girl from Mumbai, began her career as a television actress working in a number of successful Balaji Telefilms' serials.

TV doyen, Ekta Kapoor who was impressed with her work in the Balaji products, renamed her Natassha, and signed her up for her second home-production (the first being 'Kyo Kii Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta') 'Kucch To Hai', opposite Tusshar and Esha Deol. The movie bombed but Natassha was the surprise packet, as she turned out to be the villain. Moreover, her number 'Ding Dong' (whose picturisation was akin to MJ's 'In The Closet') became a chartbuster.

Natassha (Anita) is best known for acting in Balaji Telefilms and has also acted in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu movies. After her success as a model for EverYuth,Sunsilk, Boroplus and other brands, she made her debut on the television screen in Ekta Kapoor's highly successful soap Kabhi Sautan Kabhie Saheli. She made her Hindi film debut with the 2003 horror film Kucch To Hai produced by Balaji Telefilms. She later worked for Balaji Telefilms again in the films Krishna Cottage, a supernatural thriller; and Koi Aap Sa. She was working in Ekta Kapoor's mega serial "Kavyanjali," playing the role of Anjali, a middle class girl marrying into a business tycoon's family. Other than her mainstream Hindi film and TV screen performances, she also worked in some South Indian movies including 'nenupelliki ready' and 'thotti gang'. 'Nuvvu Nenu ' was a hit Telugu movie; later the movie was remade with the name 'Yeh Dil' in Hindi with Ekta Kapoor's brother Tusshar Kapoor. She is also known for her belief in numerology. She is very close to Ekta Kapoor and her family. She changed her name from 'Anita' to Natassha' on Ekta's recommendation. She was engaged to actor Eijaz Khan but they split in end 2009
